FAQs

We've answered our most common questions here

Both of them! No seriously, both tours are quite different.  You will receive a discount if you book both together in advance Here’s a quick breakdown:

The Essential Ottawa Bike Tour – best for first-time visitors, or those that want to visit the core of the city.  It’s not all Downtown streets though, this tour also visits a residential neighbourhood, a big public market, the University of Ottawa campus, and Rockcliffe Park which offers beautiful views over the Ottawa River.

Hoods & Hidden Gems Ottawa Bike Tour – best for those that want to dive a little deeper into the lifestyle and pulse of the city. This is the tour that will even impress locals as it visits some beautiful natural areas including the Hog’s Back and Chaudière Falls, a huge Arboretum, and also Little ITaly and Chinatown. Includes beer tasting at a craft brewery, or other drink at the cafe next door.

[The Essential] + [Hoods & Hidden Gems] Combo – Book both tours in advance and benefit from a 25% discount on the second tour!

We are proud to be operating in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal & Quebec City!

Yes! Ours tours run at a relaxed pace, and include plenty of breaks and informational stops along the way. Ottawa is a truly bike friendly city with bike paths everywhere. The tours stick mostly to bike lanes, although we occasionally run along quieter city streets. Also, riding in a group is helpful and we always provide tips for smart and safe riding at the beginning of each tour. If you’ve ridden a bike before, you’ll be more than fine!

We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, Birthday parties, Bachelor/Bachelorette groups, out of town guests, corporate meetings or team-building, conventions, festivals, grand openings and more).

Yes, booking in advance is required. Our tours typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

All of our tours can run rain or shine. We even offer rain capes on bike tours to keep you dry! Only in extreme weather conditions shall a tour be cancelled.  This decision is always taken at the meeting point of the tour and never before the departing time.  In the rare event a tour is cancelled we will attempt to place you on another departure, or offer you a full refund.

For our regular tours, cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are fully refundable (A 5% cancellation fee applies). Tours cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.

The minimum recommended age is 12 years old, mostly because of the height requirement – our smallest bikes can accommodate height of 4’10” (147cm). If you will have children under 5 feet tall joining, please advise us when booking.

If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please contact us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry in Canada is around 15%.  We recommend to offer your guide $5-$10 per person if you enjoyed their tour!

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected break points. If you need to go during the ride, just signal to your guide and they will find a spot.

Our tours operate rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we are able to adapt the tour to visit indoor areas or establishments. We recommend to check the weather conditions the day of your tour and bring an umbrella or rain jacket just in case.

All of our tours run in English, however with our increasing global audience, our guides are brushing up on other languages. Some guides will speak a bit of French.

  • Please bring your own water bottle – you can refill on route
  • There will be plenty of photo opportunities, so do not forget your camera
  • A bit of cash always comes in handy in case you want to buy a snack along the way, even though most of the places accept credit card as well
